Express Entry PNP Draw 2026: CRS Score Reaches 798

Canada Holds New Express Entry PNP Draw in 2026: 380 ITAs Issued

Canada continues its active immigration selection process with another Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Express Entry draw held on May 11, 2026. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 380 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates seeking permanent residence through the Express Entry system.

To qualify for this latest draw, candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 798 and had to create their Express Entry profile before 5:23 a.m. UTC on January 7, 2026.

PNP Draws Continue to Dominate in 2026

This latest round marks the tenth Provincial Nominee Program draw of the year and the twenty-seventh Express Entry draw overall in 2026. PNP-specific draws have now become the most frequent draw category this year, highlighting Canada’s increasing reliance on provinces to address local labour shortages and economic needs.

Candidates who receive a provincial nomination gain an additional 600 CRS points, which almost guarantees an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in a future Express Entry draw.

Express Entry Draw Trends in 2026

So far in 2026, IRCC has issued more than 72,000 ITAs through different Express Entry categories, including:

  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
  • French-language proficiency
  • Healthcare and social services
  • Trades
  • Physicians with Canadian work experience
  • Senior Managers with Canadian work experience

Among these categories, CEC and French-language draws continue to receive the largest number of invitations, while PNP draws remain the most consistent.

Canada’s Focus on In-Canada Candidates

This year, Canada’s immigration strategy has strongly focused on candidates already living and working in Canada. Applicants with Canadian work experience, provincial nominations, or strong language skills continue to receive priority through targeted Express Entry draws.

The consistent PNP draws also show how provinces are playing a growing role in selecting skilled immigrants who can support regional economic development and labour market demands.

What This Means for Applicants

For immigration candidates, securing a provincial nomination remains one of the strongest ways to improve CRS scores and increase chances of receiving an ITA. As competition in the Express Entry pool continues to rise, many applicants are exploring PNP streams as a faster and more reliable pathway to Canadian permanent residence.

Candidates should continue monitoring provincial programs, CRS trends, and upcoming Express Entry draws to stay competitive in Canada’s evolving immigration system.
